70 years of KETTLER – a brand is celebrating its birthday!

1949 was the year in which 22-year-old Heinz Kettler made his dream come true and laid the foundation for his company. He became self-employed and picked up what was in the air at that time: A spirit of optimism, a booming economy, enthusiasm for consumption, prosperity for all. What followed was a post-war career.

This is how the young Heinz Kettler developed and produced what the people dreamt of. In the 1950s, Heinz Kettler achieved his own, small economic miracle. Value-adding and productive, quality-oriented and with a lot of passion for his products and his operation, it went from a small garage in Westphalian Ense-Parsit around the world. Heinz Kettler had realized early on that he would orientate himself to the needs of the market.

First successes came with kitchen and later camping articles. The company experienced its great breakthrough with the piccolo camping chair and, of course, the legendary KETTCAR. The KETTCAR continues to move generations of kids! Later, the first aluminium bike and home sports items, such as the exercise bike Golf, joined in, rounding off the company’s leisure products offer. The assortment grew into a wide collection around the pleasurable life and nowadays covers the ranges of sports articles, garden furniture as well as toy vehicles and play equipment.

In 2019 – 70 years later – the employees continue the idea of Heinz Kettler and work with a lot of heart and passion on products that enrich leisure time. KETTLER products have their own identity, are well-designed and durable. For example, the treadmill KETTLER Track S10 with its innovative damping system or the lounge group EGO for the garden. Modular systems, with which you can plan your terrace individually, are absolutely trendy. With the attractive student desk MAZE, KETTLER can shine particularly in its anniversary year. Highlighted with the German Design Award, it scores points through visual and functional advantages.

Of course, there were ups and downs in the many years of the company history. Despite all the solidarity that exists for the company, it was not left undisturbed by economic problems. In the year of its 70th birthday, KETTLER got a new shareholder, who set his goal to turn the traditional German company with the strong brand name back into a trend brand. At the same time, KETTLER will retain its product lines Sports, Garden and Play&Child – so that the productions in the Westphalian Werl and Ense-Parsit are maintained, where most of the more than 500 employees work on the development, production and marketing of the products.

All of the company’s employees are looking forward to the upcoming time of optimism and change. Kettler starts the anniversary year with much hope and confidence for a successful future. The team and its customers and business partners are looking forward to this and the next years of mutual cooperation. Opportunities to toast our anniversary are offered at the forthcoming fairs, the International Furniture Fair (imm) in Cologne, the Toy Fair in Nuremberg, the ispo in Munich and later in the year at the gardiente in Wallau and the spoga+gafa in Cologne.
